Nandi | Dessert Bowl - Scandi Stoneware
In Zulu, Nandi means “sweet” or “delightful”. In Sanskrit, it means “joy” or “happiness”, so it felt like the only possible name for a bowl that exists purely for life’s sweeter moments!
Wheel-thrown in my East Sussex garden studio from grey stoneware clay, Nandi has a rounded, generous form. Simple hand-carved details around the base add tactile texture to the unglazed exterior.
The inside of the bowl has been glazed with a soft white glaze that has shades of caramel brown around the rim, bringing toasted marshmallows to mind! It's the perfect finish for a dessert bowl.
At 14.5cm wide, Nandi is the perfect size for a scoop of ice cream, a slice of cake, a handful of berries, or a little pot of something indulgent. Small enough to feel considered. Big enough to be generous.
