An abstract barley stalk carving around the base evokes sunlit grain fields, adding pastoral texture to the ocean-inspired glaze. The unglazed grey stoneware exterior has the same quiet, tactile quality as a smooth pebble found on a favourite beach - satisfying to hold, honest in its material.
Each mug is wheel-thrown in my East Sussex garden studio and finished entirely by hand. A 300ml capacity makes it the perfect size for a generous morning coffee or a slow afternoon tea.
