Ocean vibes and surfboard dreams, handmade in my East Sussex garden studio. This charming handmade ceramic storage jar is wheel-thrown and painted in blue slip to resemble the sea - rippled, coastal, and full of character.
It was my first attempt at making a lid, and I went in bold: a miniature beach hut perched proudly on top, complete with a sculpted orange surfboard leaning against the back wall like it's waiting for better weather.
The jar holds 250ml of whatever you fancy - tea bags, trinkets, or the lingering hope that the lid won't fall off when guests inspect it. The beach hut is glazed in cheerful blue and red slip, bringing seaside charm to your shelf, desk, or shrine to questionable design choices.
Perfect for: storing small treasures, sparking conversation, and reminding yourself that even first attempts deserve a place in the sun.
