About Bubbles & Clay

Bubbles & Clay really did begin with the bubbles. I’m Kerry, and before falling head over heels for clay, I spent my weekends making small batches of handmade soap. I never set out to start a brand. I just wanted to make things I loved: things that felt joyful to use, made me smile and didn’t take themselves too seriously.

Handmade in East Sussex

Today, I make stoneware in my home studio in the East Sussex countryside. Most pieces begin on the pottery wheel, with sculptural details added by hand, before being individually hand-painted and glazed. Brushstrokes, little quirks and the touch of the maker mean no two are ever quite the same.

A little handmade joy

From tactile, understated pots to colourful characters and cheeky little gifts, my work is for people who love functional pottery with a bit of personality. For cat lovers, plant people and anyone who sees the charm in a slightly lopsided bowl, there’s room for a little handmade joy.
